Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

Are you interested in what is happening at John Pritchard School? 

Would you like the opportunity to make a positive impact in your child(ren)’s school? Would you like the opportunity to work collaboratively with the staff and students to make a difference in our school community? Is your family new to John Pritchard and are you interested in learning more about our school community?  

If you answered YES to any of these questions, the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) encourages you to consider becoming part of our team! Not only is PAC a great way to feel connected with the school and the staff, but to connect with other parents as well! 

John Pritchard School’s Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is a team made up of parents, school administration and members of the school staff who meet to discuss school matters and work together throughout the school year to fundraise, support and help organize different school activities. 

 PAC plays an important role in the school community.  

• Planning events, activities, and fundraisers 
• You will have a say in how fundraising profits are used to benefit students 
• Purchasing items for classrooms, recess activities/equipment, makerspace, clubs, sensory room 
• Supporting field trips, guest presentations 
• Staff Appreciation lunch 
• Hot lunch/pizza sales 
• Supporting events such as concerts, trips, Night of the Arts and other activities  

Is PAC a big TIME COMMITMENT?  NO. Being part of the PAC can be as little or as much as you want. Some people come to the monthly meetings just to stay informed, have a voice, and help make decisions, others prefer to stay updated via email because they can’t attend all or some of the meetings, some people support PAC through volunteering their time e.g. at pizza hot lunches or school events or even through their resources e.g. collecting donations from contacts/connections and/or business for prizes or supplies for things like our Positive Behavior Panther Paw draws, and some people do all the above. It all helps!!

Annual PAC sponsored event:

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week ~ Held in February/March each year as a way of showing appreciation to all school staff for their hard work. Events include draws and baking for staff coffee breaks. The week culminates with an appreciation luncheon.
